Hours of operation
Discovery Out of School Care Donald R. Getty is open from 7:00am – 5:30pm Monday-Friday. We are open for care on all PD days, non-instructional days, Winter Break and Spring Break. We close from December 25th - January 1st annually for a winter break and on all statutory holidays. We also operate year-round which means our doors are open for summer holidays in July and August.

OUT OF SCHOOL CARE / KINDER-CARE / SUMMER CAMP
Who we are
The Out of School Care and Kinder Care Programs are designed to provide a safe and caring environment for children in Kindergarten-6, who require before and/or after school care. Quality student led programming, easy access and affordable fees are the primary focus of our programs.
Our program
Our programs are staffed by fully qualified, professionally trained personnel. The young men and women who work in our programs model energy and a zest for life and exploration to the children in the programs.
Our programs are committed to providing children with an opportunity to further their personal development within a responsive and deliberately implemented program. The OSC and Kinder Care space differs in terms of the environment, routine and activities in response to the diversity of the children in the group. However, all share a common philosophy that facilitates the provision of high quality childcare that focuses on the Flight Curriculum and the social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional development of the child.
Our Kindercare Program
Discovery's Kindercare program looks for opportunities to embrace and celebrate different cultures, ethnicities, and collaborate with our surrounding community. Families are encouraged to share traditions and occasions that are important to their families with the program. Our kinder care at Donald R. Getty is an integrated program as programming will be done in conjunction with the preschool program for two hours in the afternoon, three days a week.
Parents and caregivers are welcome anytime as we fully embrace an open door policy and the input of parents and caregivers are essential to our ongoing success.

About the program
Discovery Preschool Donald R. Getty looks for opportunities to embrace and celebrate different cultures, ethnicities, and celebrations. Families are encouraged to share traditions and occasions that are important to their family with the preschool program.
Our programming provides opportunity for children to use their imagination, be creative, engage in physical literacy, use multimodal literacies, create unique artwork and use their fine and gross motor skills.
Parents are welcome anytime. Discovery Preschool fully embraces an open door policy and the input of parents is essential to our ongoing success.
Hours of Operations
Discovery Preschool operates from 9:00am - 11:00am for our morning program; Monday - Friday and from 12:30pm - 2:30pm for our afternoon program; Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Directions to our centre in Beulah
Discovery Preschool runs in conjunction with the Edmonton Public school year, September - June and is closed on all school PD days, non-instructional days, school winter break, spring break and summer holidays.
Transportation
Afternoon Kindergarteners
In the morning we transfer the afternoon kindercare students to Beulah Alliance Church where they play and participate in child-led activities. After lunch, we transport the kindercare students to Donald R. Getty School and bring them back to the kindercare program at Beulah Alliance Church location.
Morning Kindergarteners
Morning Kindergartners attend Donald R Getty School during the day. They are transported to Beulah Alliance church after lunchtime.
