Hours of operation
Discovery Out of School Care Dr. Lila Fahlman is open from 7:00am – 5:30 pm Monday-Friday. We are open for care on all PD days, non-instructional days, Winter Break and Spring Break. We close are closed on Statutory Holiday and from December 25th - January 1st annually for a winter break. We also operate year-round which means our doors are open for summer holidays in July and August.

Who we are
Discovery Place Dr. Lila Fahlman is an accredited, not-for-profit organization that provides comprehensive, compassionate and engaging child care for children enrolled at Dr. Lila Fahlman School from Kindergarten to Grade 6.
Our dynamic team brings together staff from various backgrounds including teachers, childcare workers, and university students.
As lease-holders in the school, we believe that it is imperative for us to be active members in the communities where we operate. Our team strives to build positive relationships with administrators, teachers, children, their families, and the surrounding community.
Our Program
Our programming is planned around the children’s interest. These ideas are found based upon our observations of the children’s interests through their play and the children are encouraged to be a part of the interest based planning process.
Discovery Out of School Care looks for opportunities to embrace and celebrate different cultures and ethnicity’s. Families are encouraged to share traditions and occasions that are important to their family with the OSC. This is accomplished when parents share regional delicacies, traditional games and stories.
Parents and caregivers are welcome anytime. Discovery Out of School Care fully embraces an open door policy and the input of parents and caregivers is essential to our ongoing success.

Afternoon Kindergarteners
Afternoon kindergartners are dropped off at Dr. Lila Fahlman School in the morning. When school starts our Early Childhood Educator walks the kindergartners to our kinderhouse where they play and participate in child-led activities. After lunch, we walk back to Dr. Lila Fahlman school. The afternoon Kindergarteners join out-of-school care at Dr. Lila Fahlman School after school finishes.

Morning Kindergarteners
